Understanding the Vastu Chakra: Unveiling the Astronomical Knowledge of Vedic Sages and Energy Cycles of Nature.

Vastu Shastra gives the directive principles regarding construction of buildings so as not to displease the Vastu Purusha. These principles are explained with the help of the diagram called the Vastu Purusha Mandala. It is in this scheme of the Vastu Chakra that the climax of the astronomical knowledge of the Vedic sages is understood and perhaps they were successful in identifying the energy cycles of nature that are related to the above-mentioned deities.

Prithvidhar - (The Divine Entity in Vastu) also called as Bhudhar Devta, embodying Sheshnag, holds a significant place in Indian spiritual tradition, particularly within the framework of Vastu Shastra. As one of the Ashtavasus, a group of eight elemental deities, Prithvidhar is revered for his connection to the Earth and the principles of spatial harmony. According to mythology, Vasu, the daughter of Daksha Prajapati and wife of Dharma, is believed to have been born from the Vasu named Dhara. This connection underscores the importance of Prithvidhar and the other Vasus, who collectively contribute to the balance and well-being of the universe. Their prestige and reverence within the Vastu Chakra highlight the integral role they play in creating harmony in physical spaces. Understanding the significance of Prithvidhar offers deeper insights into the spiritual underpinnings of Vastu Shastra and its application in fostering positive energies within our environments.

Now group of eight elemental deities

1. Rog - The five sons of death have the disease, old age, grief, craving, and anger. The disease is the disease, which has been given a place at the west angle of Vastu Chakra. It is the most dreadful deity who gives death and bondage and whose violation is to invite death.

2. Nag - Nagraj was the brother of Adityas, so they are also considered among the gods. Their abode is considered to be Hades. From Kadru there were serpents like Shesha, Anant, Vasuki, Takshak, Kulit, etc. This description is found in Adiparva of Mahabharata. The bed of Lord Vishnu is made of Nagraj Anant. Nag Yoni is the god Yoni and the serpents also have the same powers as the deities.

3. Mukhya - Samarangan Sutradhar has considered the main deity to be the form of Tvashtha or 'Vishvakarma'. In the Vastu Chakra, there is a reputation of 'Tattva' on the elbow of the left hand of Vastu Purush near the north direction. Tvashtha is counted among the Dwadash Adityas and is believed to be born from Devmata Aditi, the wife of Kashyapa. The founder of Vastu Karma is also Vishwakarma himself and his sons were skilled in the architectural period, which later got divided into goldsmiths, blacksmiths, carpenters, etc.

4. Bhallat - Among the Ashtavasus, a Vasu named Prabhas, who is the father of Vishwakarma, has a place near Vishwakarma in the Vastu Chakra. Samarangan Sutradhar has considered Bhallat to be the moon. Having a door at this place allows the entry of abundant wealth into the house.

5. Soma - Soma is one of the great gods of the Vedic period, but in the Vedas, there is more description of the botanical form than the human deity of Soma. Being the best in medicine, Soma is said to have been born as the king of plants and hence he was considered in the category of gods. When we talk about the deity 'Soma' installed on the post located in the north direction of the Vastu Chakra, then this Soma Devta becomes one of the Ashtavasus. Samarangan Sutradhar has considered Soma to be related to Kubera. Vastu masters have told that the result of having a door on this post is the attainment of 'wealth of all virtues'. In Vedic literature, only the moon shining in the sky got the permanent name 'Soma'. Soma was considered synonymous with the moon and the moon was the synonym of Soma.

6. Sarpa - The word 'serpent' has been mentioned more often in Rigveda. The main difference between serpents and serpents is that snakes have only one face whereas serpents have many faces. In the Vastu Chakra, the snake has got a reputation for being situated on the left shoulder of Vastu Purush, near the north direction (to the north).

7. Aditi - A Gate of Controversy The door named Aditi has emerged as a symbol of significant societal implications, particularly concerning women's issues and intercaste marriages. While seemingly innocuous, this gate has garnered attention for its detrimental effects on the female demographic, potentially reinforcing existing barriers and norms. Furthermore, Aditi's influence extends to the realm of intercaste marriage, acting as a facilitator for unions that challenge traditional boundaries. By encouraging relationships across caste lines, it promotes social mobility and economic stability, contributing to increased savings and financial independence for those involved.

8. Diti - One of the 13 wives of Kashyapa is believed to be the origin of demons from Diti. Devas were born from Aditi and demons from Diti. Divinity is also hidden in the demonic qualities of Diti and she is extremely sattvic. But the demon spirit in his sons kept on becoming stronger with the passage of time. The place of both of them comes in the middle of North direction and Northeast angle in Vastu Chakra.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

Rana 3:16-18 IST
